Tenuta Viglione is a family-owned, certified organic estate founded in the 19th century in Puglia, Italy run by Giovanni Zullo and his children. The vineyards are located in the DOC of Gioia del Colle at an altitude of 480 meters, among the highest in the region, planted on calcareous soils interspersed with shell fossils. The winery is brand new and is entirely gravity-fed. It also features temperature controlled stainless steel fermentors with the goal of reducing oxidation and preserving the freshness of fruit.
The 100% Negroamaro is an excellent example of one of Puglia’s signature grapes. The wine is spicy, vibrant and concentrated with lots of red fruit flavors, mouth-coating tannins and an appealing freshness. This is a classic pizza wine but can pair well with any traditional trattoria food.
