Anthony
We’ll pour tastes on Friday at AOC Wines in New Rochelle and Stone Gate Wines in Valhalla. On Saturday, we’ll be up in Peekskill again at Dylan’s Wine Cellar. Times tbd, always best to call the store to find out the latest information.
Looking for a special gift or a wine for a large gathering…? Stop in and taste some artisanal wine before buying. No corporations or marketing and advertising budgets to support just pure unadulterated wine made by real people – mostly the farmers themselves. Cheers!
You’l have two opportunities to taste our wines later today and both stores will probably have different wines so if you have a car you can take a short drive and taste EVERYTHING!!
We’ll pour wine later TODAY at:Larchmont Wines at 1945 Palmer Ave from 4-7pm.
Topps Wines at 98 Pondfield Road from 3:30-7pm.Hope to see ya!!!
We’ll be pouring wine this Saturday Nov 23rd from 3-7pm just in time for your Thanksgiving shopping. Stop in and taste a selection of wines that will complement this American holiday and all the different foods that are served.
699 Post Road, Scarsdale NY [Vernon Hills Shopping Ctr, next to Fig and Olive].
Mark you calendars and call for your tickets!!! On November 15th we’ll be back at the Westchester Italian Cultural Center in Tuckahoe, NY [less than 30 minutes on Metro North, plus the station is across the street] for a wine tasting event. Our friend Chef Sal Cucullo of 808 Bistro will be pairing small tastes to go with the wines we’ll be pouring this evening. The last time Golden Vines hosted an event in June WICC was deluged by callers looking for tickets and it was a sold out event with a 20+ person waiting list, so contact the WICC asap. If you’d like to see what all the [wine] fuss is about stop in on Friday 9/20/13 from 4:30-7:30 in Peekskill at Dylan’s Wine Cellar. Anthony and Ben will be pouring FREE selections from their portfolio. Please stop in and let’s talk wine.
Dylan’s Wine Cellar has been a huge GV supporter from the moment our wines hit the US shore and carries an extensive list of Golden Vines wines from France and Italy at all price points. Steven Zwick, the proprietor is a born and raised Peekskill resident who gave up a career in finance to follow his passion of wine and opened DWC which takes the name Dylan, from Steven’s son. Come on by and say hi!

This Friday we will be at it again pouring wine at The Wine Stop from 4-7pm in Scarsdale [Eastchester] in the Vernon Hills mall. Please stop by to say hello, taste some wine and hopefully purchase some of your favorite bottles for the weekend and the 4th of July holiday.
Sure white wine is a no brainer when it’s ‘hazy, hot and humid’ but don’t forget some reds for the barbecue too – burgers, steak, sausages, chicken, tell us what you like to cook and we’ll pair it with one of our wines.
We finished off the week by having 3 straight evenings of wine tastings at various shops around NY.
We started with Dandelion Wine in Greenpoint, Brooklyn on Thursday 6/20 and we poured Il Fitto Syrah and Bricco Maiolica Dolcetto, not the most warm weather wines I could think of but the customers loved them. Dandelion Wine tastings are always more party than in store wine tasting. Lily and Meg have a great store with an eclectic selection of wines from around the world and when they throw their weekly store tastings they always have some nice cheeses and sausages to go with the wines being poured. The party starts at 6pm and goes on until at least 9. For me it is always a bit of a homecoming as I was born and raised in Williamsburg and growing up we even called our nabe Greenpoint/Williamsburg until finally Williamsburg became the capital of HIP! Back in the day I trained for the NYC Marathon right on Franklin Street where Dandelion is located. Inevitably I get some family and friends to stop by so the night flies by and Dandelion’s customers are always super friendly and very interested… plus you get Lily and Meg. I could pour here weekly plus you sell a heck of alot of wine too!
Friday night brought Ben and I to Bronxville and the wine shop Topps on Pondfield Road. Our former colleague at Zachys Ron Mostero is the gm here and Ron has been an immediate supporter of our GV project as well as the store’s owner Heath. On a hot sunny Friday night we poured some amazing French wines, Francis Lechauve’s Haut Cote de Beaune Blanc, Daniel Reverdy Sancerre and Chateau les Graves David Bordeaux. Very different crowd and wines but happily the results were the same – we sold much wine and the overall impression was extremely positive by all the people stopping in.
We finished up our weekend by heading to the Gowanus Wine Merchants run by Rick Lopez and Tom Hyland on 3rd Ave and 11th St in Brooklyn. This night we poured Lechauve’s HCB Blanc again as well as Laurent Parize’s Givry Vielles Vignes. Though the night was a bit sleepy for business we did have a nice chance to chat with Rick and to look over the selections in the store and whoever did taste bought a bottle. Golden Vines easily fits the bill for GWM with our artisanal wines from France and Italy, I’m sure this will be a long term partnership. It took us awhile to realize [we figured it out only by seeing the costumes that the customers were wearing]that we were competing against the annual Coney Island Mermaid parade held on the same day. Either way it was a pleasure to pour at Gowanus.
Overall we had a good chance to get the word out about Golden Vines, to meet new friends in wine and to see first hand what people are looking for and what they expect from their wine experience.
