100% Chardonnay; clay-limestone soil with a large amount of pebbles covering the top soil, vineyard located mid-slope.

Relatively early harvest in 2017 compared to 2016. A warm and sunny summer growing season made it important to harvest early – this was done from the 6th to the 8th of September. In terms of the vines: there were a series of three plantations. The very first vines were planted in 1982 and since that point dead vines have been removed, but not replaced at the same rate they were removed; instead there was a small addition of vines in 1985 and then a larger more substantial sweep to replace dead vines done in 1998. So, the vines range in age from 37 years to 20 years old. The vineyard is located mid-slop and the soil is clay-limestone with a large amount of small pebbles covering the top soil.

Instead of using the more traditional Burgundian Barrique they opted for the larger 500L barrels (about twice the size of the traditional Burgundy barrique) They use a total of eight 500L Barrels to make this wine – so total production is only 4,000L – a little less than 450 cases.
