This wine is aged in stainless steel, it’s 100% Pinot Noir, and the wine boasts classic Pinot Noir sour cherry notes and soft, silky tannins. In the vineyard, as is often the practice, dead vines are removed and new vines are planted. This original vineyard was planted in 1950 and the practice of replacing the dead vines with new ones continued until 2011. As a result, there is a huge range in the age of vines from close to 70 years to less than 10 years. The vines are located on a hill and after they are picked (machine and hand) they are totally de-stemmed, and sorted, before going into large stainless steel tanks, with floating cap. There is gentle filtration and these wines, harvested in late September are bottled about one year later, at the end of August.
