Vineyard: the vineyard is located on a hillside where the elevation offers good drainage. On this vineyard there is a strong temperature excursion from the upper part to the lower end.
Ideal microclimate characterised by mild sea breezes and cool currents coming in from the Maiella mountains.
20 year old Montepulciano grapes.
Vineyard Work: NO pesticides, NO herbicides, only Organic. Grass-growing between vines.
The soil is made up of medium consistency with calcareous clay like texture. We find some obsidian stones within the soil.  Hand harvesting then immediately destemming.
Maceration was made in the steel vats for about 18 hours ( for to obtain this cherry color – salasso method ).
Cherry red in color and on the nose bright red fruit scents mixed with stony minerals and earth. An amazing food wine that can be served all year long. Pasta, pizza, lamb and mildly seasoned cheeses would be well served.
